This is hands down the very best book I’ve read on anxiety, even though it’s over 20 years old. Dr. Hart writes with the compassion and empathy of someone who has also suffered with anxiety and stress as he lays out the causes and some of the solutions for anxiety and panic attacks with great precision. Of particular note is his description of how different classes of anti-anxiety medication work, their benefits and risks, and how and when to get off of them. He also offers a couple of chapters on meditation and relaxation techniques.
